The Birth by Humanity Foundation has once again honoured the best maternity hospitals in Poland for the year 2023. The ranking of Hospitals Where to Give Birth by Humanity is published on the website of the Birth by Humanity Foundation (www.gdzierodzic.info/szpitale) and is a compilation of authentic experiences of perinatal care. The data is provided by women through an anonymous questionnaire, Voice of Mothers (www.ankieta.rodzicpoludzku.pl). In 2023, 19,098 women completed the survey.
The award-winning facilities were highly compliant with the standards of perinatal care and the provisions of the Patients' Rights Act. There are two categories in the Hospital Ranking: "TOP10 in Poland" and "TOP3 in the region".
"TOP10 in Poland" are hospitals that have been ranked in the top ten hospitals at least once in 2023.
"TOP3 in the region" are hospitals that have been ranked in the top three at least once in the 2023 Where to Give Birth by Humanity Hospital Ranking and achieved a score of 75/100.
The idea of the Hospital Ranking is to identify hospitals where a woman can "give birth humanely", with respect for dignity and intimacy, surrounded by professional and sensitive medical staff. Thanks to the Voice of Mothers ranking, hospitals are subjected to public scrutiny, which translates into improved perinatal care. Making the voice of women public brings an important element to the public debate: the quality of care in the birth process and the shaping of a positive approach to the experience of motherhood. By highlighting hospitals with high standards of quality perinatal care, the public is given the opportunity to educate themselves on the importance of standards for maternal and child health.
The main aim of the Hospital Ranking is to inform women about the actual quality of care provided by individual hospitals and to contribute to improving the quality of maternity care in births.
It is a globally unique project that helps many women every day to make an informed choice about where to give birth.
