Honours have been awarded in the "Success of the Year 2018 in Healthcare" competition.

For the eighteenth time, the 2018 Healthcare Success of the Year awards were presented. „The 'Healthcare Personality of the Year 2018' was awarded to a Polish patient, while in other categories, the chapter honoured, among others, Prof. Marian Zembala, Prof. Marcin Gruchała, Dawid Ciemuga and the University Clinical Centre in Gdańsk. In the media and PR category, the Association 'Journalist Club for Health Promotion' was awarded, The winning statuette was presented to Jadwiga Kaminska by the Minister of Health  Łukasz Szumowski and the President of IPPEZ - Revd Dr Arkadiusz Nowak.

 

The 'Success of the Year 2018 in Healthcare' awards are presented in ten categories and the presentation of the statuettes took place on 10 January 2019 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.

  • Below are all the award winners in the competition: 'Manager of the Year 2018 in Health Care - public institutions' was Piotr Pobrotyn, director of the University Clinical Hospital in Wrocław.
  • The statuette "Manager of the Year 2018 in Healthcare - private establishments" went to Paweł Żuk, CEO, and Artur Prusaczyk, vice-president of the management board of the Medical and Diagnostic Centre in Siedlce.
  • The winner in the category 'Healthcare Leader of the Year 2018 - innovative hospital' was the University Clinical Centre in Gdansk.
  • In the category 'Health Care Leader of the Year 2018 - public health', the chapter decided to award the prize to Dawid Ciemiega, a paediatrician from the Paprocany Medical Centre in Tychy, who decided to fight against anti-vaccinationists.
  • In the category 'Healthcare Leader of the Year 2018 - education and training activities', the winner was Prof. Marcin Gruchała, Rector of the Medical University of Gdansk.
  • "Leader of the Year 2018 in Healthcare - Charity" is the "Spring" association, organiser of the "Noble Parcel" campaign.
  • First place in the 'Health Care Leader of the Year 2018 - media and PR' category went to the 'Journalist's Club for Health Promotion' association - an award to a whole team of journalists - members and supporters of the Journalist's Club for Health Promotion involved on a daily basis in promoting healthy lifestyles, prevention and the achievements of medicine and pharmacy.
  • "The Personality of the Year 2018 in Healthcare" was the Polish patient. The jury decided to honour the ordinary, grey, Polish patient, for the reason that it is Polish patients who bear the greatest burden of protecting their own health.
  • Special mentions were given to the 'CarnaLife Holo' project and the engineers from MedApp, and to the 'iWound' project and Professor Tomasz Banasiewicz.
  • The "Health Manager" special award for life achievements went to Prof Marian Zembala, director of the Silesian Centre for Heart Diseases in Zabrze.
