Who is a carer for the sick and what rights does he or she have? Answered by Igor Grzesiak, Vice President of the Board of the IPPiEZ

, 'A guardian is defined as, inter alia, parents exercising parental authority over a child, a person appointed for guardianship by the guardianship court, i.e. a legal guardian, and those who take care of another person without external coercion, 'of themselves'. - we then speak of a de facto guardian. Their role in the life of the ward is extremely important, but the extent of the care and the rights they have varies."
