Ahead of us is the thirteenth unique edition of the event: "Oncourse Together for Health!"which the Sarcoma Association has been organising continuously since 2008 as a sign of solidarity with patients undergoing cancer treatment.
Day 13 September 2020. once again, everyone will run for health. But not, as before, under the Maria Skłodowska Curie National Institute of Oncology in Warsaw, the at any location of the participant's choice. Emphasising the importance of safety, especially at this difficult time of the coronavirus pandemic for everyone, the organisers have changed the format of the event slightly while keeping the same idea -. support for patients undergoing cancer therapy.
Donations from runners and money from event partners will go towards rehabilitation, medication, prostheses, travel to reference clinics and also educational activities carried out by the Sarcoma Association.
Participants will start on 13 September 2020, between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. at a location of their choice, e.g. a park, and cover the distance they declared when registering. They have 60 minutes to do so! Runners will upload photos from the route with the hashtag #Onkobieg on Facebook and/or Instagram.
Taking every precaution, the organisers announce an online broadcast, from a studio in Warsaw, where they will be cheering on all the runners and reporting on the entire event. They also reveal that in order to raise awareness and engage the public in physical activity and health prevention education, they have invited guests who will highlight important issues. Coverage of the event will be available on Facebook Oncology, channel Youtube Sarcoma Association as well as on the portal: www.onkobieg.pl
May the starter packs received remind runners to keep fit throughout the year, and may the kilometres covered give real strength and health opportunities to patients.
For the sake of health and safety, which is a priority for the organisers, the Sarcoma Association is asking for not gathering on the premises of the Institute of Oncologyfrom where the studio will be run on 13 September 2020.
The Institute for Patient Rights and Health Education took the event under its mission patronage. The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Sport, the Ombudsman for Patients' Rights and the Mayor of Ursynów District, Robert Kempa, were Honorary Patrons of the event.
On behalf of the organisers, you are cordially invited!
