Report "National Mental Health Programme 2016-2020 - Recommendations".

The National Programme for Mental Health Protection 2011-2015 was implemented on 28 December 2010 by the Council of Ministers. It aims to prevent mental disorders, promote mental health, provide patients with access to medical assistance and develop research. Unfortunately, since the beginning of the Programme, progress in its implementation has not been satisfactory. Today, we already know that none of the ministries has fully fulfilled the tasks assigned to them. Thus, in practice, the Programme assumptions have not been realised. The approaching period of implementation of the NPOZP 2011-2015 and the ongoing work on its amendment in the Ministry of Health is undoubtedly the moment when steps should be taken to propose changes so that the second edition of the NPOZP meets the basic assumptions and expectations of all communities involved in the care of mentally ill patients.

The Report has been submitted to the Ministry of Health and is part of the solutions currently being analysed by the Ministry as regards the amended NPOZP for 2016 - 2020. We hope that the recommendations proposed by the patient community and experts presented in the Report will be taken into account in the amendment being prepared.
