Plein air painting and drawing for patients from 14-18 August

On 14 August, the Creativity and Documentation Foundation invites you to a four-day plein-air painting and drawing workshop for patients, their relatives, bereaved people, therapists and volunteers at the Plein-Air House of the Academy of Fine Arts in Dłużewo. The plein-air will be accompanied by workshops on therapeutic drawing with Dr Elżbieta Galińska and mindfulness training with Dr Jolanta Berezowska. In the morning, Edyta Dawiskiba will invite you for a slow jog. As always, everything will be filmed and the photos and videos will be posted on the website onkopspacekreatywna.pl and on social media: on the fanpage and in the fabebook group of the same name.

At the same time, with an emphasis on a method called Therapeutic/Musical Drawing, we assume the creation of a number of cognitively and therapeutically interesting painting compositions that will complement the exhibition collection promoting art therapeutic creative activity in the patient environment.Psycho-drawing is generated by music. It is a non-verbal, expressive and projective form of psychotherapy in which unconscious needs can surface. It brings relief to the person drawing to unlock negative emotions that are difficult to express, such as those associated with experiencing illness. Drawing is an alternative and non-exchangeable (for another) channel to express oneself, one's own emotions, personality traits, as well as repressed content not available through verbal contact. In drawing, we can see the changes taking place in the healing process, e.g. the improvement of the psycho-physical state or its deterioration. Musical drawing multiplies the above-mentioned effects, as two stimuli affect the person in parallel: through music and through drawing, they provide pleasure and playful elements, which triggers spontaneity and creativity.
