Explore the sensory world of people with disabilities

The National Health Fund (NFZ) and the Polish Paralympic Committee (PKPar) are joining forces to promote health and prevention through physical activity. The first step of this cooperation is the 'Wednesday with Prevention' organised by the National Health Service today.

As part of "Wednesdays with Prevention" We will focus on promoting physical activity as an effective way of maintaining fitness and improving wellbeing. We want to emphasise that movement, outdoor exercise and sporting activities are beneficial, both for people with and without disabilities. We will also try to introduce the sensory world to people with disabilities.

Physical activity - the benefits alone

Regular activity shapes the body's immunity and fitness, plays an important role in maintaining normal body weight and counteracting obesity. It also reduces the risk of many diseases of civilisation, including hypertension, cardiovascular disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes. Importantly, it also has a beneficial effect on mental health.

For them, sport is the meaning of life

People with disabilities can actively participate in sports activities and training, as well as compete in sports. Sport is also an excellent form of rehabilitation and, for some, it becomes the meaning of life. It is worth finding out more about their stories and daily challenges and where people with disabilities can train in their area.

The article 'The sensory world of people with disabilities' takes a look at the life story of a person with a visual impairment and her passion for running, despite the difficulties.
