Citizens for Health - building social dialogue in health care

The Polish Coalition of Oncology Patients has launched the project 'Citizens for Health', co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund, as part of Priority Axis V Support for the health area, Pro-quality actions and organisational solutions in the health care system facilitating access to affordable, sustainable and high quality health services of the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development. The aim of the project is to develop social dialogue between patient organisations and public administration bodies - government and local government in particular the Ministry of Health.

The project partners are: Patient Ombudsman and the National Federation of NGOs.

Implementation period: September 2016. - June 2018.

The project aims to:
- Improving the public participation competence of patient organisations
- Encourage patient organisations to participate in public consultations
- Dissemination of information on public consultations, consultations of important system solutions in health care and consultations carried out by local self-government units
- Sustained participation of patient organisations in healthcare dialogue processes
- Develop a programme of cooperation between patient organisations and the Ministry of Health and increase intersectoral cooperation
- Develop a practical for NGOs in health care on participation and social dialogue to serve organisations in the years to come
