Avalon Foundation: Free active rehabilitation - inpatient and online

The Avalon Foundation - Direct Assistance to the Disabled makes it possible to free rehabilitation as part of the project 'Activity as a key to independence', co-financed by PFRON. It is possible to participate in the classes also online.

Project aimed at for persons aged 16 and over with a mobility impairment certificate (R-05, N-10, moderate or severe degree) from the Mazowieckie Voivodeship..

 

In the project programme:

  • Active rehabilitation - a series of therapy sessions during which different rehabilitation methods and concepts are applied. The participant, under the guidance of a physiotherapist, strives to achieve the goal set at the beginning [individual classes].
  • VR training - a modern form of rehabilitation, training in a virtual game world, stimulates the body and brain. Rehabilitation and fun in one [individual classes].
  • Meeting with a psychologist - meetings to support the rehabilitation process of patients, allowing for better therapy outcomes [individual classes].
  • Classes with a speech and language therapist - classes aimed at improving verbal and non-verbal communication with the environment [individual classes].
  • Independent in the field - training in proper and safe walking outdoors, independent route planning, belaying, interacting with others [group activities].
  • Independent in everyday life - activities to develop basic skills such as preparing meals and putting on clothes. Exercises are tailored to the needs and abilities of the participants [2 participants].
  • Cross training - a strength and endurance class designed to strengthen the body comprehensively. The workout involves the consolidation of movements performed in everyday life through repetition and the use of load [group classes].
  • Relaxation and breathing techniques - training in performing conscious breathing, which is a source of health and a key to self-understanding. The class helps to quiet the mind and relax the body [group class].
  • Self-defence - practical and theoretical classes that educate on how to react correctly in threatening situations. Classes tailored to participants' abilities [group classes].
  • Nordic walking - classes aimed at developing body awareness and correct movement patterns by learning correct walking technique. The workout ends with stretching exercises [group classes].
  • Zumba - a form of interval training, strengthens muscles and overall physical fitness. It is based on Latin rhythms. It can be practised both sitting and standing [group classes].

Where?

Rehabilitation takes place at the headquarters of the Avalon Foundation (Domaniewska 50A, Mokotów, Warsaw) and ONLINE - via the Zoom app. Joining the class is not difficult - just click on the link received in the email.
