An interactive knowledge compendium on stroke in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic has been created

The portal not only offers The portal provides a wealth of information on stroke, as well as an interactive questionnaire which enables people to ask the experts their questions. In this way, the enquirer can address his or her concerns and doubts about stroke management and treatment - especially in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The portal provides an information base for those seeking proven knowledge and an important aid in promoting stroke prevention.

An important communication element on the portal will be a series of short videos in the form of spots, aimed at people at risk of stroke and anyone interested. In the first, opening video spot, already available on the homepage, users will be reminded of how to recognise a stroke, what the symptoms are and what action to take if they are identified - including the specific situation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the spots, the most relevant campaign messages will be presented in a simple and clear way, in line with the most up-to-date standards of stroke management and prevention.

People with chronic diseases, i.e. hypertension, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, among others, are at particular risk of stroke. The risk of stroke may also be increased by confinement to a small space with limited physical activity, disrupted diurnal rhythm and sleep hygiene, and poor diet.

Stroke symptoms should not be ignored, even if they are mild or transient. Any worrying symptoms should be consulted and assessed by appropriate medical services.

The #NotTrumpNaLife campaign was initiated by the Association for the Development and Promotion of Neurological Sciences.
