On the occasion of World Sick Day, the Forum of Patient Organisation Leaders will be held for the eleventh time on 10 and 11 February in Warsaw. Organised by the Institute for Patient Rights and Health Education, the meeting enables the integration of the patient community and those working on their behalf. The two-day conference will be attended by representatives of administration, officials and experts connected with the world of health. The aim of the Leaders' Forum is primarily to foster the initiation of solutions that will contribute to the improvement of systemic patient care. The organisers wish to encourage those responsible for shaping national health policy to pay attention to the unmet needs of patients and the problems faced by representatives of patient organisations in their daily activities. The experience of recent years shows that the dialogue and conclusions of the Forum have resulted in the fulfilment of many of the demands of the patient community, particularly in terms of access to modern, effective therapies, as well as legislative changes. One of the most important achievements expected by the patient organisation community has been the enactment of the Act on Patient Rights and Patient Ombudsman, the idea for which was initiated during the earlier editions of the Forum.
