Cardiovascular diseases are the theme of the 'Valentine's Day' 'Wednesday with Prevention' - an educational action by the National Health Fund.
Today the heart beats harder. Do everything to make it work as long as possible
The development of cardiovascular disease is influenced by our lifestyle, including poor nutrition, sedentary lifestyles, alcohol consumption, smoking and stress.
The National Health Fund reminds people of the possibility of taking advantage of the free cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention programme. Screening can be done once every 5 years at any primary care clinic under the National Health Fund. All you have to do is register your willingness to participate and the clinic will check whether you qualify for the programme. The tests will be carried out by your doctor or primary care nurse.
More than 570,000 patients benefited from the CVD programme in 2023.
Our expensive heart. How much does it cost to treat cardiovascular disease?
The treatment of cardiovascular diseases cost approximately PLN 20 billion last year. This is a not inconsiderable amount that we spent from the health premium on medical services and medicines.
Take advantage of the NFZ programme that will love your heart
The National Health Fund, in its latest Patient Guide, reminds you how to look after a healthy heart, what the CVD programme is and how to benefit from free preventive examinations.
The Patient's Guide is a practical guide to the health care system from the patient's perspective. Written simply and concretely. All guides are available at https://www.nfz.gov.pl/dla-pacjenta/poradnik-pacjenta/
