Who will be covered by free flu vaccinations?

The Health Minister's decree on influenza prevention for the 2021/2022 season has been published in the Polish Official Gazette.

Vaccination will include:

  1. persons employed by and providing healthcare services in a healthcare provider;
  2. persons employed and persons performing pharmaceutical services, professional tasks or professional activities in a pharmacy open to the public or a point of pharmacy;
  3. persons authorised to perform laboratory diagnostic activities in the laboratory;
  4. academic staff and other persons teaching students or doctoral students in a higher education institution, in accordance with the curriculum of the relevant degree programme or programme of study, and other persons employed in the institution;
  5. students and doctoral students participating, in accordance with their study or training programme respectively, in activities involving patients;
  6. persons employed by the State Pharmaceutical Inspectorate performing control or inspection activities in accordance with the competence of the provincial pharmaceutical inspector and the Main Pharmaceutical Inspector;
  7. persons employed or performing duties in a social welfare organisational unit within the meaning of Article 6(5) of the Social Welfare Act of 12 March 2004 (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 1876 and 2369, and of 2021, item 794 and 803) or in an establishment providing round-the-clock care to disabled, chronically ill or elderly persons referred to in Article 67 and Article 69(1) of that Act;
  8. patients:
    1. care and treatment facility,
    2. nursing and care facility,
    3. inpatient or home hospice,
    4. palliative medicine unit;
  9. persons staying in a social welfare home referred to in Article 56 of the Social Welfare Act of 12 March 2004, or in an institution providing round-the-clock care for disabled, chronically ill or elderly persons referred to in Article 67 and Article 69(1) of that Act;
  10. persons working in a kindergarten, other form of pre-school education, school or institution functioning in the educational system, kindergarten or school functioning in the educational system of another country located in the territory of the Republic of Poland, day-care centre, care centre, regional care centre, intervention pre-adoption centre, within the framework of forms of care for children aged up to 3 years;
  11. officers or soldiers: the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, the Police, the Border Guard, the Marshal Guard, the Internal Security Agency, the Intelligence Agency, the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Military Intelligence Service, the Military Counterintelligence Service, the Customs and Fiscal Service, the State Fire Service, the State Protection Service, the Prison Service, the Road Transport Inspection, the Railway Protection Guard, municipal (city) guards and members of volunteer fire brigades, mountain and water rescuers performing rescue activities;
  12. ombudsmen for psychiatric hospital patients;
  13. persons born no later than 1946.
