09-11.08.2017 Warsaw will host the seventh edition of the Summer Oncology Academy for Journalists organised by the Dr. Maciej Hilgier Foundation as part of the Medical Education Programme.
The Summer Oncology Academy for Journalists is an initiative to introduce the public to the achievements of modern medicine, as well as to raise awareness of unmet health needs in cancer. Prominent oncologists and public health experts have been invited to participate in the event and will meet with journalists from all over Poland who specialise in medical journalism.
Over the three days of the 7th Oncology Academy for Journalists, participants will discuss nearly a dozen diverse topics, divided into interdisciplinary blocks. The meeting programme will include a presentation of the latest reports from the ASCO 2017 congress, a discussion of the social aspects of cancer, a discussion of the role of modern oncology diagnostics, a discussion of access to new oncology drugs in Poland and a presentation of issues related to modern personalised therapy, immuno-oncology and biological drugs in oncology.
