Optimising care for women with gestational diabetes - conference invitation

WUM Medical Centre, Abbott and Deloitte

cordially invite you to the conference

"Optimising care for women with gestational diabetes".

The conference will be broadcast live, on the YouTube channel of the WUM Medical Centre

Diabetes in pregnancy is a risk for two - both the mother-to-be and the developing foetus. Unfortunately, global data are alarming - not only is the number of diabetic patients increasing, but also the number of women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). This is related to the prevalence of risk factors such as, among others, a later age of becoming pregnant (over 35 years of age), being overweight or obese or having high blood pressure. The conference 'Optimising care for women with diabetes in pregnancy' aims to identify solutions that can help modernise the model of care for mothers facing an unfamiliar disease. Presentations by speakers will answer important questions, in particular:

- WHAT is the extent of gestational diabetes in Poland?

- WHAT are the risks to mother and baby of gestational diabetes?

- HOW is gestational diabetes treated?

- WHY is glycaemic monitoring in women with gestational diabetes so important?

- HOW are new technologies changing the reality for women with gestational diabetes?

- WHY is exercise important for maintaining adequate glycaemic levels?

- WHAT role does the midwife have to play in educating about gestational diabetes?

- WHAT effect does normoglycaemia before and during pregnancy have on postpartum wound healing?
