Health Minister Adam Niedzielski:
- The Plan for Rare Diseases contains nearly 40 tasks that will be implemented between 2021 and 2023, during which time the situation of patients with rare diseases in Poland will be significantly improved.
- The cost of introducing the Plan is estimated at over £90m.
- One of the most important elements in the care of a patient with a rare disease is the provision of rapid, highly specialised, well-targeted laboratory diagnosis, available in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- We will set up a national registry for rare diseases, which will allow all patients to be registered and all information to be concentrated in one place and accessible to doctors.
