Movember 2017

November is the month in which Movember - a term coined by combining the two words moustache - and November - has become a permanent fixture in Poland for several years. The aim of Movember is to draw attention to men's health. There is a lot of talk about cancer in November, and Movember wants to talk about cancer prevention for men. The special sign of the action is the moustache, which men grow to draw attention to the issue of guys' health.

How was Movemeber born?

Movember is a campaign that was born many years ago very far away. Or to be more specific: in 2003 in Australia. Two friends, Travis Garone and Luke Slattery, decided to bring the world back to the Moustache. They gathered their friends and together they grew a beard under their nose for a month. They quickly realised that the Moustache was the perfect tool to start any discussion. So they decided to use it to provoke their friends to talk about male cancer prevention. Thus, Movember was born.

In Poland, we have already had the 4th edition of the campaign. This year, the role of campaign ambassadors is played by handball players of all PGNiG Superleague teams, who took part in the creation of a series of unusual spots - MOhistories, telling about various aspects of men's health. Links to the spots featuring the players are available at: www.youtube.com
