From 28 March, it will no longer be compulsory to wear masks in public places, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski announced at a press conference today. Restrictions such as quarantine and isolation are also to be abolished on that day. There are, however, some exceptions. Which ones exactly?
Adam Niedzielski relayed that the epidemic status in Poland is good. The number of Sars-CoV-2 infections is decreasing all the time despite the arrival of refugees from Ukraine.
Masks - From when will they not apply? What are the exceptions?
- I have decided to abolish the obligation to wear masks from 28 March, this does not apply to medical entities, where it will still be obligatory to cover the face. However, I recommend wearing masks in places with large concentrations of people," said Niedzielski. He reminded that just because there is no obligation does not mean that we cannot protect ourselves in this way.
Quarantine and home isolation - since when not in force?
- We are also abolishing isolation and quarantine. Patients identified as positive will have to isolate themselves at home, the minister said. This means in practice that the sanitary inspectorate will impose neither quarantine nor isolation. The exception will be situations of large local outbreaks that may break out. Then the sanepid will be able to use its powers.
