A healthy diet is also crucial for heart health. Processed foods, fatty foods and too much salt and sugar should be avoided. Instead, opt for fresh fruit and vegetables, whole-grain cereals, fish, nuts and seeds. A diet rich in these foods provides us with valuable nutrients such as fibre, vitamins, minerals and healthy fats that benefit our heart.

Regular heart checkups and blood pressure monitoring are key factors for our heart health. People with heart disease should check their blood pressure regularly and perform heart tests such as ECGs and echocardiograms to monitor the condition of their heart and avoid serious complications.

Adequate sleep is also an important aspect of heart health. Lack of sleep or irregular sleep can lead to an increased risk of heart disease. Therefore, it is advisable to ensure an adequate amount of sleep, which is around 7-8 hours per night.
