Welcome to the debate 'Health begins in the mouth' - doctors to patients 24 September, 11.15am

On the relationship of periodontitis to systemic diseases such as diabetes and metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular, neonatal, neurodegenerative, oncological

will be told by Prof. Marzena Dominiak (PTS President) and Prof. Tomasz Konopka (Medical University of Wrocław). 

Leaders of patient organisations will then be invited to discuss (Urszula Jaworska, Urszula Jaworska Foundation, Anna Sliwinska, Polish Diabetes Association, Aleksandra Rudnicka, Polish Coalition of Oncology Patients, Stanisław Maćkowiak, Federation of Polish Patients), who will outline the problems faced by patients affected by particular diseases and present desirable actions and solutions to overcome these barriers.

The meeting is the starting point of a nationwide social campaign by the PTS and IPPiEZ to raise awareness that prevention of caries and other oral diseases is an investment in the health of the whole body.
