(IN)VISIBLE TEENAGE DEPRESSION

23 February marks National Day against Depression. According to the WHO, more than 350 million people of all ages suffer from depression worldwide. It is most often diagnosed in people between the ages of 20 and 40. It is up to twice as common in women. Experts point out that teenage depression is a growing problem.

 

In 2017 alone, 730 young people in Poland attempted suicide and as many as 116 of them ended in death. As part of the 13th edition of the Forum Against Depression's educational and social campaign, a video on the problem was produced in collaboration with Youtuber Director of Life "(In)visible teenage depression". which aims to reach out to people struggling with the problem and their families .

 

 

On 23 February, a chat with a psychiatrist is also scheduled on the website www.forumprzeciwkodepresji.pl (from 5 to 7 pm). In addition, from 23 February to 1 March, the so-called anti-depression telephone line of the Forum Against Depression (22 594 91 00) will be open.
