On 11 October, Prevention Wednesday is dedicated to influenza prevention.
Influenza is not just a common cold - it is a dangerous, acute infectious disease that, in the form of complications, can consequently pose a serious threat to our health. The virus is transmitted by the droplet route, through direct or indirect contact. The incubation period in our body is between 1 and 2 days. Experts stress that there are specific steps that each of us can take to minimise the risk of contracting the disease.
Flu prevention - The key to health in autumn
As part of the NFZ's weekly 'Wednesday with Prevention' campaign, we remind you of a conversation with health experts. Dr Michał Świerszcz, head of the Emergency Station in Gliwice, and Dr Paweł Mieszczański, deputy insurance director of the SP ZOZ MSWiA Hospital in Katowice, will share their knowledge on complications and flu prevention, particularly important in the autumn and winter period.
- Our immunity is our most important ally in the fight against flu. Let's strengthen it through healthy habits, regular physical activity and conscious decisions such as vaccination," emphasises Dr Michal Swierszcz.
- We encourage everyone to take preventive action. Prevention is not only about protecting ourselves, but also our loved ones and the community in which we live, adds Dr Pawel Mieszczanski.
