DERMABUS will reach areas where access to a dermatologist is difficult or impossible. As part of the campaign, a specialist dermatologist will examine patients for psoriasis, and at the mobile PSOs psoriasis helpline, those willing to participate will receive information about centres, support and education on psoriasis treatment and prevention.
The project is organised by the AMICUS Psoriasis and Psoriasis Foundation, which in the first stage of the campaign, together with supporting companies, plans to visit eight cities: Tarnów, Rybnik, Wałbrzych, Częstochowa, Włocławek, Gorzów, Słupsk and Radom.
The first of the cities where DERMABUS will appear is Tarnów. The mobile point will be located at Cathedral Square on 1 July from 10.00 to 18.00.
Those with a confirmed diagnosis of psoriasis will be given the information they need and directed to reference centres for treatment of the disease.
- Any patient who has skin lesions and who suspects he or she has psoriasis will be able to visit a specific area where the Dermabus will be, for a dermatological consultation. - says Professor Irena Walecka, MD, medical supervisor of the project, and adds: "During this consultation, specialists will verify whether it is psoriasis, the severity of the disease and suggest treatment options. The aim of this project is to help patients in areas where the problem of access to a specialist is greatest, where patients have no one to go to and where there are no centres that provide biological therapy treatment.
