As part of its "MS Foundation - Fight for Yourself!" a socio-educational campaign under the slogan "SM in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic"., the largest survey of 942 people with multiple sclerosis, was conducted in November 2021. The main aim of the study "Contemporary diagnosis and treatment of MS in Poland". was to explore various aspects related to the diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis.
The results of the survey show that the process of diagnosis in multiple sclerosis still takes far too long, as pointed out in particular by respondents who are in the process of being diagnosed and have been diagnosed in the last 12 months.
Over the past year, MS patients have adapted to the reality imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Compared to the results of the November 2020 survey, respondents have a better appreciation of the accessibility of healthcare and see positive changes within it. At the same time, they continue to see the need for systemic solutions leading to the optimisation of MS care and which will serve to improve their quality of life.
We encourage you to read the press release, which takes a closer look at the results of a community survey on, among other things, the evaluation of health service delivery for MS patients during the COVID-19 pandemic:
