7th European Congress on Exercise is Medicine

The 7th European Congress on Exercise is Medicine will take place in Warsaw on 21-23.09.2018. The capital of Poland will host 35 speakers from all over the world, specialists in sports medicine, genetics, sports psychology, fitness. The First European Medical Fitness Convention will also be held during the congress. The idea of Exercise is Medicine, or healing with movement, is a real revolution that is spreading around the world. Its promoters emphasise that exercise can not only help prevent lifestyle diseases, but also help patients who suffer from chronic diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease or diabetes. The World Health Organisation recommends 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise per week or 75 minutes per week of high-intensity exercise. Depending on the condition, these norms may vary for people struggling with cancer. It all depends on the stage of treatment, the wellbeing of the sufferer and the baseline physical condition. The 7th European Congress on Exercise is Medicine will be held in Warsaw for the first time. The two-day conference will feature 35 speakers and presenters from seven European countries and the United States, with 27 lectures, eight masterclasses and eight workshops. The event will include 4 major events: theoretical lectures on medicine and sport, the first European Medical Fitness Convention, medical fitness workshops, as well as the "Walk for Health - Invite Your Doctor" campaign The Congress is organised by Exercise is Medicine Poland and the Surprised by Age Foundation. The scientific quality of the congress is overseen by the EIEIM scientific council under the leadership of Prof. Juergen Steinacker from the University of Ulm in Germany.
