Registration for the 13th ONKOBIEG organised by the Sarcoma and Sarcoma Association has now started. This year, due to the epidemic situation, the run will be held in an online format. Support cancer patients. Start from where you want and run any distance.<\/p>\n

- Running day: Sunday 13 September 2020<\/p>\n

- Time: 60 minutes of activity between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

- Location: anywhere in Poland, subject to safety rules<\/p>\n

- Starter pack: delivered by courier.<\/p>\n

For the past 13 years, we have been organising the Oncology Run, which is the finale of the Association's year-long activities and also our big celebration. The mission of the annual event is to support patients undergoing cancer treatment. To show them that we are not indifferent to their fate and, even if in such a symbolic way as physical exertion, we unite with them. We are also keen to ensure that citizens' awareness of cancer prevention is much greater, as well as their commitment to patients<\/em> - explains Kamil Dolecki, organiser and CEO of the Sarcoma Association.<\/p>\n

The 13th edition will be special! Due to the current situation in the country related to the coronavirus pandemic, we are forced to change the current Onkobieg formula. In this edition - on 13 September 2020 - anyone from anywhere in Poland will be able to run after registering on onkobieg.pl<\/em> - mentions Szymon Bubi\u0142ek, organiser and board member of the Sarcoma Association. It is up to the participants to decide exactly at what time they will start that day, but it is important that the declared number of kilometres during the hour-long activity should be completed between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. The organisers have also announced an online broadcast from a studio in Warsaw, where talks will be held with specialists and patients in order to raise awareness and engage the public in physical activity and health prevention education. There will also be a group representing the run at the Institute of Oncology consisting of around 50 participants, who will complete as many laps as they can in an hour together along a route set out on the Institute's grounds.<\/p>\n

At this year's Oncourse, representatives from various professional and social groups, including firefighters, doctors, soldiers and athletes - spot participants - are invited to take care of their own health and support cancer patients.<\/p>\n
