Oncogrants III - grant competition of the Polish League Against Cancer

Realising the statutory goals of the Foundation, the Board of the Polish League Against Cancer is pleased to announce the opening of the call for applications for the 3rd edition of the Oncogrants competition, in which we are looking for new expert and educational projects, not yet funded by other institutions, creatively referring to the Strategy Against Cancer in Poland 2015-2024

The third edition of the competition will include projects that aim to improve the situation of the patient, today often lost in the healthcare system. Patients often feel a lack of due attention and care from healthcare professionals, complaining about the system's excessive bureaucratisation, poor access to information, little time to talk to the doctor, failure to recognise their needs and preferences during treatment and poor quality of communication.

In the third edition of the competition, we want applicants to recognise these problems, assess them qualitatively and quantitatively, and propose solutions, good practices and practical and concrete ideas that could be implemented in Poland. However, we do not want the current Polish system conditions to limit the originators - we assume that these conditions can or should be changed in order to introduce concrete solutions. When developing ideas, we also encourage you to look at examples of such practices in other countries - both within and outside the European Union.

In the 3rd edition, the best projects will be selected in three categories:

  • The patient as a subject in the health care system.
  • Use of new technologies in two-way communication with the patient during diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment.
  • How to improve access to innovative cancer treatments?

The deadline for submitting projects is 30 September 2019.
