NFZ. 760,000 people use the NFZ Diet portal

Do you want to maintain your weight but have no idea how to eat healthily? Would you like to start a calorie-restricted diet, but don't know how to compose your meals? The Diet NFZ portal comes to the rescue. There you will find 8,000 recipes and 11 diet plans to suit your needs and preferences. The service is completely free of charge.

NFZ Diet Portal (www.diety.nfz.gov.pl) has recorded 11 million page views this year alone. 760,000 users have registered on it, and each of them has access to a diet tailored to their needs. Since July, each person, when setting up his or her diet plan, has been able to tick the product (including gluten, lactose) that he or she wishes to eliminate from the proposed menu.

- The NFZ Diet Portal was created to promote healthy eating, which is key to staying healthy and plays an important role in the management of chronic diseases. The diet plans proposed are based on the DASH diet, which not only helps to combat overweight and obesity, but also contributes to lower blood pressure, reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease - informs Sylwia Wądrzyk, director of the NFZ's Customer Service and Prevention Department.

Dedicated diet plans, including recipes prepared by nutritionists, await users on the portal. Specialist advice and materials promoting healthy habits can also be found there. E-books with cooking tips and recipes are of separate value. Use of the portal's resources is completely free.

Tailor-made diet

The user of the NFZ Diet portal can choose from up to 11 diet plans: classic, overweight and obesity, vege, diabetes, hashimoto's, depression, constipation, hypertension, senior, family and PCOS. Your own account on the portal allows you to determine the calorie content of your diet, tailoring it to the needs of one person or the whole family with a separate calorie content for each member. You will then receive a ready-made meal breakdown, including calories, protein, fats and carbohydrates. The average preparation time is also shown, and the dishes proposed on the portal are quick and easy to prepare. The menus are based on readily available foodstuffs. It is also possible to generate a shopping list.

When you don't want gluten or seafood

A novelty is the possibility of eliminating products containing gluten, or lactose, but also meat, fish and seafood from the proposed diet plan. - Once you have selected all your preferences or exclusions, you receive a ready-made diet with the meals laid out for the time indicated. An interesting solution is the option to change the recipe if one of them does not suit our tastes - informs Beata Kopczyńska, spokeswoman for the National Health Fund.

The quality of the diet plans and content published on the NFZ Diet portal is overseen by a team of nutritionists.

The portal is most popular with young people

The NFZ Diet Portal has been developed with a wide audience in mind. - Indeed, users include people of all ages, but the largest and most active group is between 20 and 30 years old. In terms of gender, 55 per cent are women. 48 per cent of portal users report low physical activity and 25 per cent no physical activity - Beata Kopczyńska adds.

Although the majority of portal users have a normal body mass index (BMI), of all 11 diet plans, the 'Overweight and Obesity' plan is the most popular. The second most popular plan is 'Classic'. Users are increasingly opting for the family eating plan, which provides the opportunity to prepare balanced meals for the whole family.
