Healthy and safe holidays

"Prevention and healthy lifestyles in winter". is the main theme of the 'Wednesday with Prevention' action in January.

As part of today's "Wednesday with Prevention" - a cyclical educational action of the National Health Fund, we suggest how to take care of your safety during the winter holidays.

Winter is a time for holidays, outdoor events, weekend getaways and active recreation. Winter also means the risk of unpleasant surprises. Most risks can be reduced. How can you ensure a safe holiday? What should you bear in mind? What should you warn children about? You can find out in today's "Wednesday with Prevention".

There is no bad weather...

...is just inadequate clothing. This is a common, but not the only cause of frostbite. Children and the elderly are more prone to frostbite due to faster heat loss. How to protect adults and children from the effects of cold temperatures? The National Health Fund in its latest Patient's Guide reminds you what to know about the dangers of winter weather and what precautions to take.

Ensure good memories

Regardless of where you are spending your holidays, it is important to observe basic safety rules. What can you do to ensure that your child only brings back good memories from the winter holidays? What should you teach your child? Which safety rules should be observed during physical activity and play in the snow?

When help is needed

An unfortunate accident while sliding, sledding or skiing can happen to even the most experienced winter sports enthusiast. In an emergency situation, memory can fail. In "Wednesday with Prevention", we remind you of the emergency telephones and urge you to save them in your phones. We also remind you where to seek medical help during the winter holidays.
