Another Healthy Wakes meeting behind us

On Friday, 12 May, the Network for Health project held another meeting of the Healthy Motivations series, this time entirely devoted to legal issues. The workshop for representatives of patient organisations was led by Prof. dr hab. n. praw. Dorota Karkowska, an expert on patient rights, Dr Maria Łoszewska-Ołowska, an expert on press law, and Piotr Drobek from GIODO. In the first part of the meeting, Piotr Drobek introduced the participants to the exact principles of collecting and storing personal data, followed by Professor Dorota Karkowska's presentation of the most important issues concerning changes in the area of patient rights and the possibility of pursuing claims. Finally, Dr Maria Łoszewska-Oławska presented information on press law, with particular emphasis on the operation of legal principles in online and social media publications. For those not present at the meeting, we have prepared video materials with the workshop presenters. They will be available at www.siecdlazdrowia.pl after logging in, in the training materials section. Activities within the Networks for health are addressed to all non-governmental organisations in Poland dealing with health and patient support. The aim of the project is to strengthen the role of foundations and associations, integrate the community and inform about important initiatives and events related to health care in Poland and the European Union.
