On 8 March 2019, the second edition of the Parcel from the Heart campaign will be launched, aimed at female patients in oncology wards on that very day. Last year's edition exceeded the expectations of the organiser, the SANITAS Association. The organisation received many pictures of hearts, which patients hung above their hospital beds. Many kind words and a positive response motivated the Association to develop and repeat the campaign.
This year 1200 Hearts with a message from a psychologist during a morning visit on 8 March will be placed in the hands of patients staying in hospitals in Krosno, Jasło, Gorlice, Przemyśl, Brzozów, Rzeszów, Nowy Sącz, Poznań, Warsaw, Katowice and Gorlice. Sleepless nights, many volunteer meetings, dozens of hours. All this with a smile to once again bring joy to others. A small, modest gift that has its own hidden power.
"I would like every woman in oncology looking at this heart to remember what she was like before the disease and think what she will be like after it. And she will be stronger, maybe a little crazier and even more beautiful. This heart, made with our hands with all the love and positive energy we have - is a signpost." - says Joanna Cieśla from the Sanitas Association
"I think most people like it when they are given gifts because it has a positive effect on their mood. It makes us feel good when someone remembers us - it tells us that we are important to someone. A small gift such as a "present from the heart" is intended to focus the patient's preoccupied thoughts on more pleasant aspects of life, at least for a while. Mental wellbeing undoubtedly translates into physical wellbeing, so on the occasion of Women's Day, it is worth reminding patients that they can influence their own mental sphere with a little effort." - says psychologist Monika Wietecha from the Sanitas Association

The SANITAS Cancer Association is a nationwide organisation whose main idea is to support people struggling with cancer and the broad concept of education and prevention.
